Life at the beach...

Arlene Webster - 1921-2007

In memory of my mother, Arlene Webster

Arlene Webster always had a love for writing. Her first published short story was for the Lutheran Magazine in June, 1965 entitled, Step Lightly, You Walk on Wonder. A second short story, In Defense of Christmas Cards, was published in December, 1967. Arlene began working as a columnist for the Destin Log in 1981. Her Life Is column ran for almost twelve years with nearly 600 columns. She also wrote feature articles and contributed to a food column for the paper. She then worked for several years for the Santa Rosa Sun and the Shreveport Senior Scene writing her Golden Years column.

Arlene, at the young age of 84, finished her first novel, Two Angel Wings.

Although she is no longer with us, her writing and wisdom will be with us always. Miracle Cottage was lovingly compiled by Arlene's daughter and published in 2009.
